Beach trek: Gokarna to Honnavar

I haven't been to sea side during monsoon, but I would assume it wouldn't be that comfortable. Just visiting the beach is one thing and staying there for a night is another. So I woudn't do a beach trek and a night halt during monsoon :)

jaijee,
You can either carry ration from B'lore or purchase it in MM hills. If you inform the forest office well in advance, they might even ask the villagers at Naagamale to get ration. Check out with them.

Trekking in Charmadi: Amedikallu

maddss,
September to January is best generally for any Western Ghats trek. And certainly you don't want to be in the forests during monsoon. It can be anything between uncomfortable and disastrous if u hike during peak monsoon season in the Ghats. So best time is to be there just after monsoon when all the streams are full.

Trekking in the land of elephants

Pankha,
Thanks for your comments and information about avalakki falls. I have heard that there are many beautiful waterfalls in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. Unchalli, Magod, Sathodi, Shivagange(Ganesh), Waate halla, Benne hole - to name a few. Some of those falls are not very popular and not easily accessible, and it can be quite a challenge reaching them during monsoon.

Honeymoon in Himalayas

Ravi,

Thanks for poining out the easier way :) It is quite possible that I took a circuitous route. Infact our source of information there was generally the taxi and bus drivers. So looks like we were misled :(
